Akhenaton was a Monotheist, and only believed the Sun was his God. Therefore all other gods did not exist to him. This included Osiris, the Lord of Life, whose religion demanded the dead be mummified with linen wrappings. The KV55 Mummy is currently believed by many Egyptologists to be “Akhenaton” based on condition, bloodlines, and health issues. They do not notice that it was once linen-wrapped for mummification. They also extended his age (of the mummy) to conform to the age of Akhenaton at death.
The reconstruction of the face of KV55 Mummy does not look anything like Akhenaton. His art style was based in Realism, so his monuments should look just like him. Rather the face of KV55 Mummy looks exactly like a 22-year old Tutankhamon, just add some hair.
Tutankhamon ruled 10 years. This was interrupted twice, once by his predecessor and once by his heir. The 10 year rule is figured from wine dockets found in his tomb.
