A mix of people

A Mix of People

The Ancient Hebrews were not original in their choice of religion.  But, see this through their eyes.  Each person of the Hebrew People was one of each mother land and combined together into a cosmopolitan whole.  The Hebrews may have been slaves, in which case their overlords conquered many lands and this mix of people became them.

Their histories are a composite, not a direct one.  The Great Flood was found in Babylon as the Epic of Gilgamesh, because some Hebrews were from there.  The Exodus was the story of Pharaoh Ahmose I who expelled the Hyksos from the Nile Delta near Sinai’s Red Sea (Sea of Reeds).  The Nation of Israel existed during the reign of Thutmose 3, a later successor of Ahmose.  The conquest of Thutmose 3 included an idea similar to the Trojan Horse whereby baskets of food carried Egyptian soldiers inside the enemy camp.  History is never original if it is a composite.  The Hebrew Bible is not a direct source but a mix of ideas; if the Hebrews believed this came from a god, it was the God of the World for their people came from all over the world.  So their God is everyone’s God, as gods have countless names, theirs has no one name.

America therefore is the Promised Land of this cosmopolitan religion.  For America is a composite of every nation on Earth, with many individual histories knitted together like a quilt.
