The Ancient Egyptian Origin of Christmas ©M7C 2024
The Egyptian Christmas was the burial of the Mummy in the tomb, which was seen as a form of Spiritual Rebirth for the deceased. The person was embalmed by removal of its organs, drying the body with Natron Salts for 40 days, cleaning and anointing with perfume and incense, and finally wrapping it with strips of Linen cloth with performed rituals by the Priest. In the Old Kingdom or Pyramid Age, the Mummy was placed into “fetal position” to represent the child in the womb of its future mother. “Birthing Bricks” or clay pillows used in the process of giving birth were placed in the tomb as “Magic bricks.” “Grain dolls” made of sprouts of vegetation were placed in the tomb to represent the new life, in the form of Osiris, the God of Life & Civilization. The Mummy had Amulets of semi-precious stones, gold daggers, gold jewelry of a ritual nature placed within the wrappings. A gold or silver mask was placed over the head and shoulders. The Mummy was interred into a Mummy Case and/or the Stone Sarcophagus into the tomb, which was called the Mansion of Eternity. The tomb represented the New Life. The old life was judged by Osiris to see if it was worthy to ascend to the next level.
In Western Christianity the rebirth of the Mummy was retold as a story. In that story, Jesus the Christ was born in a Manger in the city of Bethlehem under a Star that was witnessed by Wise Men from the East. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes, which are strips of linen cloth. His father was a Carpenter. The Wise Men gave gifts of Gold and Incense. Christmas is celebrated by exchanging wrapped gifts, drinking eggnog, or singing hymns. ©M7C 2024
Translation:
The word Christ in Egypt was QRST which meant burial in a tomb. The Manger was the Stone Sarcophagus, a rectangle of stone which resembled a horse trough where horses drink water from (Manger). Bethlehem in Hebrew is “House of Bread,” and in Egypt, the word for Mansion was “House of Bread” in Hieroglyphs. Swaddling clothes are strips of Linen, like Mummy Wrappings. The Anointed One is the word Christ in Ancient Greek; the Mummy was anointed with perfume. Gold was to identify the dead with the golden Sun God Ra, as most Mummy cases are covered in gold. Incense was burnt in Egyptian Temples or Tombs as an offering. The birth of Christ is the rebirth of the Soul. The Mummy was a wrapped gift. The Star of his birth can be Sirius the brightest Star in the sky, the Star of Osiris. The Festival of Sakhmet occurred from December 25 to 30, in which wrapped gifts were exchanged and people drank wine and ale. The Christmas Tree was the Djed Pillar of Osiris, and offerings were placed at its base. The Egyptian Priest used an Adze or Carpenter’s tool for the Opening of the Mouth ritual. The Wise Men are vassals who give annual Tribute to the Egyptian Pharaoh.
