Ma'at is defined as: Truth, Order, Law, Justice, Stability, Cosmic Harmony, Righteous Conduct, and the will of Pharaoh. Ma'at is offered by Pharaoh when no other offering is suitable, as in times of Chaos or hardship. Ma'at is the Language of the Divine, the equation of life, and the belief of Citizenship. Ma'at is the Daughter of Ra, whom is the Father of Pharaoh, and thus Ma'at is the twin-sister of Pharaoh as well.
Pharaoh is High Priest of all the Divines, Chief Justice (Administer of Ma'at), and King of the United Lands of Egypt and any other country whom he rules over. Pharaoh is the Chief Legislator (author of Laws), Chief Executive (enforcer of Laws), and the Supreme Court Judge of his domain. Only Pharaoh stands before the Divines and communicates directly with them. Pharaoh is also Chief to the Generals of his Military, when the need arises, but should Ma'at be enforced correctly, wars seldom arise.
The polar opposite of Ma'at is called Isfet, a word rendered as "chaos or violence." When Ma'at is not enforced properly, this results. Ma'at was not enforced properly in the Middle East in January 2011 CE, causing a period of Chaos and Violence that overthrew the President of Egypt and other nations. Fires broke out in the Temple of Amun at Karnak City, as a negative omen.
