A large private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Customs turn away those considered to have an unfavourable ethnicity, meat-eating is frowned upon, child labor has been outlawed, and parents must choose their children's names from a government-mandated master list. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Akua-Niihau's national animal is the Killer Whale, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Pu-Pu Shell.
