Twitter begins its transition to 'X' after changing its iconic bird logo
The company announced the rebrand with a logo projection on its San Francisco headquarters.
The "X" symbol is the "Universal Sign of Death" in many cultures. It appears on Pirate Flags, the crossed scepters of Lord Osiris of Duat, and is shown when insects die they cross their limbs. The Flag of the Kingdom of Osiris/Niihau is also an "X" for the crossed scepters of shepherd crook and threshing flail, symbols of the Egyptian Economy. The USSR had similar use of "X."
