The Overlap in Tutankhamon's reign (age 9-12)...

 (Excerpt):

Chapter1:

Pharaoh Akhenaton ruled Egypt at the end of the 18th Dynasty from about 1350 to 1334 BCE in the New Kingdom era.  He is said to be the first King who embraced Monotheism in that time.   King Wanis of the 5th Dynasty wrote in his Pyramid Texts information that could reference either Monotheism or Atheism in his treatment of the Gods, by “devouring them and taking their powers.”  King Amonhotep Nebmaatra, the father of Akhenaton, started the Aton-Ra religion by his deification.   But Akhenaton is credited with the implementation of the new religion and the persecution of Polytheism.

Akhenaton may have been mentally unstable.  He was indeed Paranoid, declaring that he would “never leave his new city of the Horizon of Aton.”  Perhaps he feared assassination or was shut-in?  He directed all Temple offerings to go to his Temple(s) of Aton, and closed the Polytheist Temples, angering the populace.  He erased the names of the Gods, their images, and any reference to the political opponents of Aton worship, except “Ra-Friendly” Gods, like “Ma’at”, “Ra”, or other acceptable Deities.  Civil Unrest was a likely reaction.  Tombs are generally plundered or violated under that heading.  As he was unstable is proven by his need for a co-ruler.  His Father co-ruled at the start of the reign and about 3 heirs co-ruled at the end of his reign.  His father co-ruled up to 10 years, and his heirs up to 3 years of Akhenaton’s 16+ years on the throne.

His heirs ruled simultaneously with Akhenaton, not separately.   This is an Overlap.  There are 2 people using the name Smenkhkara, of both genders.   The Female Smenkhkara has the title Nefer-Neferu-Aton “The ruler” (a title taken from Queen Nefer-Neferu-Aton Nefertiti), as Ankh-et-kheperu (the added “et” is feminine), and the Male Smenkhkara Ankh-Kheperu/Djoser-Kheperu who was married to Queen Meritaton.   The Female ruled about 2 to 3 years, the Male about 1 year.  Then add Tutankhaton, who was in the City of the Sun for his first 3 years (age 9 to 12), as an Overlap.   Afterwards he changed his name to Tutankhamon and moved out when Akhenaton died.   Tutankhamon ruled independently until age 19, although his vineyards produced wine for a decade.

KV62 was originally the tomb of “Smenkhkara” (the Female one) until it was violated in the interim time period of Tutankhamon’s reign.   Egyptologists discovered the tomb was “designed for a female ruler,” and items in the tomb “belonged to a female Pharaoh,” including the mask (and Organ Coffins) that was substituted with the Face of Tutankhamon as if “pried off and inserted.”  The tomb was retained by Tutankhamon for his later use.

My “Theory” is the Female Smenkhkara was a sister of Akhenaton named Sitamon.  She was the heir to Nebmaatra and next in line for the throne, and apparently the biological mother of Tutankhamon.

Sitamon was the “daughter/sister of Nebmaatra Amonhotep 3.”  If she was the “sister” of Nebmaatra it was a product of Incest as there are 2 with the name of Sitamon, one a daughter and one a sister.  As Sister of Akhenaton “a lover of Wa-en-Ra” she took the title of Nefer-Neferu-Aton” from Queen Nefertiti and applied it to herself.   Their “son” was Tutankhaton or Tut-ankh-U-Aton (a twin brother?).   The other parent(s) of Tut would be Nebmaatra & Sitamon.  Mutemwiya was the “Wife of Thutmose 4” and “Mother of Nebmaatra” and his “First Consort.”  Would Sitamon’ s face be on the items from KV62?

The “Mummy of Nebmaatra” was once contested, as it was “rewrapped in the 21st Dynasty.”  The remains of KV55 are also contested.   Candidates are the “Male Smenkhkara,” “Akhenaton,” & “Nebmaatra Amonhotep 3” (MC theory).  Its age was increased to support either Akhenaton or Nebmaatra, based on Genetic conditions related to age.   The “Mummy of Nebmaatra” would be Thutmose 4 otherwise.

Tutankhamon’s Parents are Siblings according to DNA analysis.   Younger Lady 35 (YL-35) and KV55 remains are “brother and sister.”  The “sister of Tut” YL-21A is not the daughter of KV55 remains, although she is attributed to being Ankhesenamon without evidence (her tomb is missing at present).  My “theory” is that the sister of Tut is Bakhet-Aton the daughter of Nebmaatra, a harem woman and mother of the 2 fetuses from KV62.  Nefertiti was also from the Royal Harem.

The last reigns of the 18th Dynasty:

Amonhotep Nebmaatra

Akhenaton, Queen Meritaton

Smenkhkara A (Male), Smenkhkara B (Female), Tutankhaton, Tutankhuaton.

Vizier/King Ay with Queen Ankhesenamon.
